Problem

Fixed grid layouts lack flexibility for custom compositions. Users want to drag dividers and span cells to create unique layouts on the fly.

Solution

SmartFlex Grid provides a weighted divider system where users drag borders between cells to resize them. Cells can span multiple rows or columns. Layouts are saved and can be recalled as custom templates.

Current Status

Disabled for v1. The FlexLayoutParser, FlexLayoutEditorView, and CellSpan system are implemented but not exposed in the UI. May return in a future release.

Tier Availability

Was planned for Plus tier.

Known Limitations

  • Complex spanning configurations can create orphan spaces that are hard to fill.
  • Maximum grid complexity of 12 spans in either dimension.
